擅长武器与盔甲
御林铁卫擅长所有的简易武器，军用武器，所有的盔甲（轻型，中型，重型）以及盾牌。
Appointed to the Kingsguard
御林铁卫放弃他的家族，财富以及权利。他的财富等级降低至1级，但倘若他所需要之物是为王室所备，他的社会地位等级将被视为4级，并且获得20点影响力（御林铁卫）。

保护者 Protector
2级起，御林铁卫可以指定一人作为他保护的对象（必须在他履行职责期间，由GM批准）。这名被守护者必须在先攻检定之前选定，并且在战斗期间不得更换。如果御林铁卫在被守护者5尺之内，他可以在对被守护者的攻击进行检定之前与其交换位置。只要有足够的空间，御林铁卫最多可以阻止4次对被守护者的攻击--每进行一次额外的防护检定都要受到可累积的-2处罚。
骑士训练(枪艺)
作为骑士，御林铁卫不断淬炼自己的军事才能。3级的骑士在骑乘战斗中使用长枪获得+1的加值。此奖励在6级时+2，与其他类似奖励叠加。
盔甲协调
御林铁卫善于以盔甲抵挡攻击，减轻它们所造成的冲击力。因此，3级的御林铁卫在穿着他所熟练的盔甲时会获得+1的AR加值。此能力在9级时+2（此加值与同类加值叠加，最高不超过+3）。注意在敌人精确打击：忽略盔甲（见244页）时，此加值无法生效。
骑士训练(剑术)
最后，御林铁卫成为剑术大师。4级时，御林铁卫使用长剑获得+1的攻击加值（剑的种类须在第一次获得此能力时确定），同样也只在骑乘战斗中生效。此奖励在8级时+2。GM也可以允许玩家选用其他替换武器，此加值与其他类似奖励叠加。
守护者
5级起，如果一名御林铁卫在他的被保护者10尺之内受到成功的攻击，他可以每轮可以进行一次额外的防御检定以打偏此攻击。这个动作甚至可以在御林铁卫进行全防御的时候进行，并会获得全防御的加值。7级时，御林铁卫在这个防御检定上获得+2加值，10级时+4。这项特殊能力不能用于躲避远程武器。
防卫者的警觉 Defender’s Vigilance
6级时，在任何可能对被守护者有威胁的境遇中，御林铁卫都可以获得+2的先攻加值。此加值与精通先攻以及其他类似先攻加值叠加。
防卫者的清算 Defender’s Retribution
7级时，当有人近身攻击被保护者，御林铁卫对其可以获得一次额外攻击（类似专长：顺势斩）。御林铁卫必须身处被守护者5尺之内而进行这次攻击。
Sword Duty
10级时，在保护皇室人员或被守护者时，御林铁卫获得+2的攻击加值与+4的伤害加值。并且在任何威胁到皇室人员或被守护者的战斗中，他在对抗击垮检定时获得+4加值。
