CoC isn't famous enough. Can't catch the public eyes with something so niche, and hating on us RPG-nerds with something only RPG-nerds know is... Kinda pointless ya'know?
(While CoC's doing pretty well since forever, its always been regulated to a "second choice" to DND-types in the states. - The vast majority of other stuffs ain't even a choice though comparatively speaking. A 5% in a 90%-dominated market isn't something to laugh at. - It is one of the 2 NA games that have been doing much better outside than in, the other being T&T which has gone from completely dead to at least still have something in print, to the point that there was even a Japanese-Reimported version of a T&T free RPG day release last year... Thank Japan for both I guess?
DND is just a big, shiny, juicy target for people who have no idea what TRPG is beyond the original front cover...
...And need some fast Conservatives street cred in short notice.
Mouseguard? What Mouseguard? (Yes I know what Mouseguard is. Even owned the original comic. 99% of the people out there probably won't though, and that's the whole point...
